Rogue Productions

We decided to call our production company, Rogue Productions, because we thought this was a comical name that fitted our horror genre.
The dictionary definition for 'Rogue':

1. A playfully mischievous person; rascal or scoundrel
2. No longer obedient, belonging, or accepted and hence not controllable or answerable; deviating, renegade: a rogue cop; a rogue union local.

We think it fits our genre because the protagonist in a horror is generally mischevious and cast out of society.
On choosing our production name, we found that the film, The Stangers (2008) had a similar production name called: Rogue Pictures.

Character Profiles

Rachel –
Name: Rachel Stock
Age: 20
Occupation: University Student
Place of study: Cambridge
Motive: success
Rachel is an innocent victim of abuse and an acid attack, she is a university student studying medicine, the reason we have made her a student is so that our target audience can relate to her. We have decided to have her studying medicine because this connotes that she is clever and has a bright future ahead of her is to relate to our target audience. After the attack, Rachel starts having bad nightmares reliving the experience. Rachel doesn’t leave the house after having a number of these dreams as she becomes petrified of men in hoods. She feels trapped, venerable and unsafe. The very last shot in the film is off people from the mental asylum knocking on her door, so then the audience can tell she is being taken to be sectioned.
We wanted Rachel to seem innocent so as in the majority of scary movies the audience can feel the same thing can happen to them. We also chose her to have a innocent look about her so that the audience can feel sympathy for her.

Male –
Name: unknown
Age: Mid 20’s-30’s
Occupation: unknown
Motive: Revenge
You don’t find out much about the male in the movie however he has elements to him which are very distinctive. He has a very deep voice, with almost a flirtatious tone to it, He is sadistic, and twisted, trying to make the torture of Rachel more entertaining. His identity is always hidden by a black baggy hood, and wears loathers so that when he is walking Rachel can hear how near of far away he is.
We have decided to base our male character as the Joker from the Dark Knight because you can tell he is twisted from the way he talks to people. The scene where the Joker is at the ball, you begin to see his flirtatious side to him when he first meets Rachel his words are “hello beautiful”, however he then holds a knife to his face so you notice how he changes the way he is with people quickly.
